Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery

At Casa di Cura Pio XI, numerous laparoscopic and robotic surgery procedures are performed using the system da Vinci®.

Robotic surgery allows the surgeon to work with high precision through a minimally invasive technique, with the aim of reducing the impact of the procedure and promoting postoperative recovery.

Among the interventions carried out:

  • Robotic radical prostatectomy
  • Robotic radical cystectomy
  • Robotic retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy
  • Adrenalectomy
  • Partial and radical nephrectomy
  • Renal tumorectomy
  • Renal pyeloplasty
  • Treatment of ureteral strictures
  • Laparoscopic bladder diverticulectomy
  • Varicocele surgery
  • Sacral colpopexy
  • Endoscopic intrarenal surgery for urinary calculi

Among the robotic procedures, the radical prostatectomy represents one of the most frequent procedures. The technique makes it possible to operate with great precision in a particularly delicate area, with special attention to the preservation of urinary continence and sexual function.

Robotic surgery is also used for radical cystectomy, partial nephrectomy, pyeloplasty, procedures for pelviureteric junction obstruction, and reconstructive surgery of the urinary tract.

For kidney tumors, the robotic technique allows, in selected cases, to remove the diseased part while preserving as much healthy renal tissue as possible.
