Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic method that, using ultrasound waves emitted by special probes, allows the visualization of various parts of the body, excluding the chest, stomach, intestines, bones, and structures contained within the cranial vault.
This method makes it possible to reconstruct the image of organs and body systems and therefore allows the identification of numerous pathologies.
The examination is quick and neither invasive, painful, nor risky. When it is not sufficient on its own to make a complete and definitive diagnosis, it still provides important indications for carrying out further investigations aimed at defining any pathological condition.
The reporting of the examination is done in real time by the physician performing the procedure, who then provides the Patient with only a few frames of the images viewed during the examination.
At Casa di Cura Pio XI, it is possible to perform all types of ultrasound scans, with the exception of pregnancy ultrasounds.
Some ultrasound examinations require specific preparation.
