The Endocrinology outpatient clinic of Casa di Cura Pio XI deals mainly with the study of the thyroid and related pathologies (hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, simple and nodular goiter, thyroid carcinomas).
Specialist examinations and thyroid biopsies are performed under ultrasound guidance.
The patient also has the opportunity to utilize the consultations of the Nursing Home's medical staff regarding the execution of laboratory tests, instrumental investigations, and specialist consultations that may become necessary for the diagnostic evaluation of the case.
Furthermore, thanks to the close collaboration with the Nuclear Medicine service, it is possible within the nursing home to perform radiometabolic therapy of the thyroid with Iodine-131, under an inpatient regime in dedicated hospital rooms.
