It all started in 1870, in Girona. A woman, Maria Gay Tibau, together with Carmen Esteve Andoca, He chose to respond to the suffering of the sick with a simple and concrete presence: accompanying, assisting, and watching over.
That first night of June 29, 1870, born almost in the silence of the houses of Girona, would become the beginning of a much bigger story. From a small community a mission was born.
From the mission, a presence that over time has crossed countries, cultures and continents.
